Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved animals. My family are farmers. Our animals are bred for food. When I heard about what was happening to some of the beautiful wild animals on our planet it made me feel sad and angry!
When you think of environmental problems you probably think of pollution right? But the poaching of wild animals is one too. Poaching is when an animal is taken or killed illegally. It usually happens when an animal has something that can be sold for a profit - such as fur, horns or tusks. This has led to many species becoming seriously endangered such as the Mountain Gorilla and Black Rhinos. They are very nearly extinct. This has to be stopped! Poaching is a serious problem, especially in Africa and Asia. Although poachers usually hunt Tigers, Elephants, Gorillas, Bears and Rhinos, they kill sharks and whales too. They usually only want one thing off the animal and then their bodies are left to rot. They want the fur or body parts as trophies on their wall or because they wrongly believe they are needed for medicine. Sharks are lured to boats and their fins cut off to be made into Soup. Their bodies are thrown back into the ocean and without fins they can’t swim and will die.
There are now fewer than 60 Javan Rhinos left in the world - the rarest mammal in existence Many beautiful birds and animals have already been hunted to extinction.
How do we stop this illegal trade? How can we protect these precious animals? Perhaps Donald Trump could build his wall around them and put his armies there to watch them instead! Whatever we do, it’s important for kids to be educated about this problem, as we are the generation who may be able to change it. If we don’t, some of these animals will only ever been seen in zoos - or worse - only live in books!
A world where people are killing wild animals just for their skins, horns and tusks is not a world any of us should allow.
Reflection
I was proud of myself for winning our school Speech Competition. Which allowed me to compete in the Oroua Speech Competition, where I was pulled out of the hat to speak first, which made me more nervous than I already was. But I was proud that I got over my fear. I just stood there because i was to nervous I didn't want to move. I did well to remember all my speech off by heart and next year I would aim to be placed higher by using more body language.

History Villages and towns in the olden days
The opening of the Apiti bridge in 1896 meant that it was much easier for people to move in and out of the district. The roads were all bumpy, no tareseale. The transport was mostly horse, walk, or maybe even bikes. The houses were all woden. All the boys had to play rugby or football. There were very rarely taxis around that only went Fielding to Apiti. In the olden days, this school that we go to now, was a high school, as well as a primary school. When they were making the railway tracks down at coal creek, they used to use horses and olden day trailers. The picture in the pub AKA Apiti Tavern was taken in 1904. Her name is Mrs Jacob Angular Jacob. It was taken near the old Catholic Church. In the olden days they used to have a cow and lambs. They lambs fed off the cow because the sheep did not have enough teats. For Apiti sports, they did bull riding and wood sawing and you were timed. The olden day photos of the school kids at school all had familiar names. All of Apiti was bush, they had to cut the trees down for farming. Apiti used to be a big community. It still is, but not as big as it used to be. The ones who have been here the longest, and have the most generations would be the Digbys and the Pratts and Mcintyres ,although they live closer to kimbolton Postie office people would get letters from overseas friends and relatives. They would get newspapers. In the early years at Apiti the post office was just a wooden shack. `*Down in Felding in 1885 they had a meeting with the mayor about going up to find some suitable land to make villages and towns with around 10000 acres of bush suitable for farm land. Thi is now known as Apiti. `*A surveyor was appointed and Apiti district was divided into 100 acre lots. `*25 May 1886 lots were balloted at 1 pound per acre and payable over the next ten `years
Grease production
Reflection At the start Phinece , Cara , and I were early to get there and the door was looked so we had to wait till Mrs Cuming came back and we got ready and got our makeup on. Pam Strahan did my makeup It looked Amazing. I was one of the main characters I was Sandy and Tyler was Danny. The one part that I was really embarrassed was when Frenchy didn't come because she couldn’t find her wig. So we had to redo that scene , It was really embarrassing but I got over it and we just had fun. The dance is one of my favourite parts you could hear Ella my sister singing well she can't really sing she was making lots of sound like a baby would. Another one of my favourite parts was when I got all dressed up and black clothes if you didn't see I was wearing ripped black jeans black top and a leather black jacket But I had to get ready really fast. The songs we did was Greece is the word, Summer Nights, Look at me I am Sandra Dee, Grease Lightning, Rock Around the Clock, Go to together, You're the One that I Want. I can't wait to do next years production .
My name is Sandy Olsson Danny and I are in a relationship I'm one of the pink ladies. Me and my family move from Australia to America. I'm 17, my hair color is blonde my eye color is blue. My school is Rydell high but it is actually Apiti high in our concert. I'm a cheerleader and a member of the pink ladies. I'm very nice to everyone but after the dance I get all dressed up into a bad girl as you can tell, I am in all black clothes and hoop earrings and just look at those shoes that I am not wearing because I am not allowed to wear shoes they wear HEELS (WOW)!!!. Sandy is a very bright and nice girl. She always wants to impress Danny but she was really upset when Jan took over the rest of the dance and won it with Jan not me!!!.
My name is Sarah. I am year 6.
I have done 6 school productions
But I do drama in Feilding Helen O'Grady drama academy.
I'm Sandy in the play I love my part.
My favorite color is purple. I live down Makoura Road near Makoura Lodge I LOVE animals mostly horses and dogs. Danny is the one I'm going out with in the play. If you didn't know I have a sister Ella she is younger than me she is 10 months she will be one on 30th of August. School productions are one of my favourite school activities. I love singing, acting and I really like dancing but I don't go to a dance studio. I just make up my own I hope you enjoy our performance.
The Olden Day School
We had to line up in two groups one girls line from youngest to oldest and then one line of boys youngest to oldest. The teacher checked our hands boys first then us girls. My hands good ( Yay.) After us girls went first as she opened the door I thought it was a church It looked so cool inside. The desks were awesome the painting was King George the sixth. We got given a fountain pen which was cool but hard to write with. We had to use a blotter because we weren’t allowed any blots on your page from ink. Cooking.
We had to line up again and go to the Totannui (which was the house)and i had to go into the kitchen and grab the cream out of the fridge it was a little bit hard to fine d the fridge NOT FINISHED!!!!
Akitio Camp “Ahhhhhhh ! was it a bush? Na ! it was just Tyler. He crashed into me when he was running back, because he was too scared. I leapt into the air. I sprinted my heart out. We made a plan. Everyone had a cricket bat or a yellow bat. Then we walked back down very slowly and quietly. I stuck to Phinece like glue. Johnny accidentally stood on a stick ! They all ran back screaming. Mrs Cuming comes out and tells us to be quiet because everybody was trying to sleep. As we walked down again and found the road. There was a man driving past and he was sooo dodgy. He went past, a few seconds later he disappeared. The light was flickering. The waves were soooo loud pishhh pishh ! There was another touch shining. It felt like someone was about to kill us ! We screamed with terror. it shone us in the face. We had our bats up ready to hit them.
BUT ….. It was just all a DREAM or was it ????

Science is awesome coke and mint molecule +molecule = 2 new molecules + CO2 gos
Thw chemicals in the coke react with the chemicals on the mints carbon dioxide CO2 bubbles from very quickly on the mints . this courses huge pressure and and send a jet of CO2 bubbles into the ear I learnt about the moleruse
We also did the food couriering and vinnerger makes gas .
I felt so happy with my painting and, to be honest, I was so happy with it because I thought it would turn out bad. When we started sketching I thought I would muck up straight away … I kind of did. Dad's eyes were the hardest part to do because they are quite small and had a lot of detail to them. The judges said it looked just like my dad. I was so proud of the portrait when I had finished.
Enviro Schools Learning with
Rowena - Whanaungatanga in the environment

Wellington Dreamworks
For Dreamworks, our Whanau group was Jacob, Kirsten, Katie and me and our group’s Whanau Mum leader was Mrs Fielder. As we walked through Te- Papa we went up to the dreamworks exhibition. We did a scavenger hunt and had to find 6 things. They were Shefu, Puss’n’boots, a chicken from Chicken Little, a cub off The Lion King, Lion from Madagascar and a really hard one to find … I think it was in the bee movie. Then we asked Mrs Fielder if we could go into the ‘How to train your dragon’ and we were on the dragon in no time. It was loud and awesome. I asked Mrs Fielder if we can go again and we could but we went to the scale models which were far far away, the Shrek house and How to train a dragon. And then we did the movie again. It went from black and white to color but there were red lines on the T.V thing. Then we went to the computers we made animations. You had to pick a partner. I had Kirsten as my partner. We got ready to go. Off the timers go went and me and Kirsten moved on to the dress ups. We said our thank you’s to the people who organised it. All of the groups said a thank you each. By Sarah
The guns are so big and realistic it is amazing. The statues skin they used was amazing as it looked so real. They used a person and moulded the salafi into the statue. When we were getting shown around there were alarms. If you set off the alarm it would say, “Please step away!” and we all got a fright. When we got to the tank, we got feel inside it. It was nice and warm. The tank was the same as in the war. By Sarah
We walk into the Capital E building. As we walked up the stairs and sit down I was so nervous and excited. The order of the the Across the trenches movie went Brooke, then Lauren, James then, Tyler, Jackson ,Dylan, Johnny, Lauren and finally Brooke. Jacob was the floor manager 9p.s. that is the cameraman) and Phinece was running the autocue and I was the Director. It was so awesome. By Sarah
I brought two calves from a dairy farmer. They were girls they were beautiful but then a few days later both calves were sick. They kept getting sicker and sicker and eventually died and I ran into my bedroom and cried my eyes off. It was just too sad and she was too young to die. My other calf I decided to call her Issie I did some leading, calling and some grooming.

Camp Reflection
We went on school camp we made music it was fun. Brooke and I were partners to make music. We made a movie and Lauren was the director. On the first day we went on the cable car to the Carter Observatory and it was cool. We looked at the BIG telescope but it was too cloudy to turn it on and look through the telescope at night. That’s why we went to the Observatory at night but it was raining. At the planetarium there were lots of pictures videos and things to do. It was big and fun to go in it because it is fun like the space ship. In space there is no gravity, so the chips were flying around. We played games like “find the moon” and “make the moon”. We sat on chairs and we watched a movie about “We are aliens” and that is title for the movie as well.
We might go back some day and maybe stay there for a couple of nights when the telescope is working so we can see the stars.

sarahs indoor activities on PhotoPeach My lamb story My lamb is called Dolly and she is fluffy under her chin. I call my lamb and it has a little drink . It has lots of little drinks again and again and again, then my lamb is full. I care for my lamb. She goes crazy when I skip. I have 4 lambs and they kept kissing me and they kept jumping on me. When Dolly was little she slept in her [[#|pen]] and now she sleeps in her paddock. I got heaps of certificates at lamb and calf day.
My Safety Story One day Dad was on the motorbike. He was chasing the sheep in the gate and he went up the hill. Up the hill to the gate and put the sheep in the gate in a new paddock. Then he raced back down the hill, he was going toooo fast . MMMMMMMmmmmmm booom crash . I screamed "Dad Dad are you OK ?" But he didn't answer me. I ran over to him. I tapped his shoulder and I said "Dad Dad are you OK ? " He still didn't answer me. I checked to see if he was breathing . I put my ear by his mouth and nose. I could hear him breathing. So I ran home and rang 111. I said 'I need the ambulance". I said "my address is Makoura Road Apiti". They said "what happened?" . I said my Dad has fallen off his motorbike. He is breathing but I can't wake him up. "We will send a ambulance, go back and look after him, put a blanket on him to keep him warm. We will be there soon. The ambulance came and they took him to the hospital. He was OK. He said Thank you Sarah for looking after me.
My group is the plant Experts. We had an egg, we had to save our egg so it didn't break. We wrapped it up in tissue paper, then we made a parachute. We put it in a milk container. We threw it off the top of the Memorial tower. It didn't break !!!!
We went to Wanganui East School. We met Sarah's class. We showed them our wiki. I talked to them. They might come and stay with us at our school.

The ones who have
Postie office people would get letters from overseas friends and relatives.
So we had to redo that scene , It was really embarrassing but I got over it and we just had fun.The dance is one of my favourite parts you could hear Ella my sister singing well she can't really sing she was making lots of sound like a baby would.

Akitio Camp
“Ahhhhhhh ! was it a bush? Na ! it was just Tyler.

Enviro Schools Learning with
Rowena came to our school and she is a Environs schools learning person
we did lot of things But most parts Tyler and I miss out because we had Spanish then we got back and I had to do spelling and I got them all right. and everyone was outside tring to}find the evenness of the Maori god then everyone came inside so we sad on the ground. she gave us 2 thing from the story and as she read it out and we made a spider wed and it was fun wre streched it out and let go she showed us her bug coleshon and she freesed the bug and then put pins in them the butterfly and moths are put in three spins alll the rest on the right.

The Apiti Show.
I made a cat scratching pole. First I got a block of wood and then I got some carpet and nails and I found some toys and nailed it

My Safety Story
One day Dad was on the motorbike.
He still didn't answer me.
We had an egg, we had to save

,I learnt how to make a bird house. I got a pipe and got some shells and a piece of wood and some straw for the nest. So she can lay her eggs.
I stuck the little piece of wood into the little hole so the bird can jump up into her nest.
